In our lab we investigates how people learn to perform motor skills. Currently, we are examining how different factors, such as emotion, mood, and genetics, contribute to motor learning.
One line of experiments tests the effect of emotion on motor learning using a dart-throwing paradigm in which participants adjust to prism goggles.
Another line of work assesses whether positive and negative mood induction can moderate the magnitude of motor learning.
Finally, we are also investigating genetic factors underlying motor learning in both older and younger adults.
